All true...until you reach the 50+ age group. Then the competition is unreal.

  4. For those who did (or know of someone who did) this year's Master's National Road Championship (specifically men 40-44) you may want to see this attached video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt3l69fXl-g

Additionally there is a write up in the following link that discusses an act of great sportsmanship that is extremely rare (in all sports) and is worth knowing about. It's the complete opposite of doping (which is all one seems to hear about cycling these days). http://myworldfromabicycle.blogspot.com/2010/09/masters-national-road-race-championship.html

Age group is funny aint it. You might be 600th out of 1000 but if 3 people show up in your age group, you'll probably be 1st. :) Thanks for the video Henderson. The 5th place looked almost effortless. What cameras are you using?

  8. To be honest, I don't care too much about rankings and such. As long as I feel that I couldn't do much better than I've done, I'm happy. Even when I finish last (like, overall last).

All joking aside, every age group is competitive.

  10. Thanks Ron.
A: The cameras are HD Hero cameras.
Thanks for the compliment, but definitely not effortless. Literally thousands of miles of training and the video highlights clips of my maximal efforts. (I'm glad that I didn't have images of my facial expression!)
