  4. I love the design of the new group, but come on. I will have to stick with SRAM.

...hey, pal, when i need batteries to shift gears on a fucking bicycle, you'll haveta pry the ergo-levers outa my cold dead hands...

  6. To be the latest to sport a 3G iPhone strapped to my wing bars and fresh new DA or lifetime supply of gut bombs? Leaning toward the gut bombs...call me silly.

I'm waiting for someone to interface the 3G iPhone with the electronic Dura Ace. Pressing buttons to shift is so quaint; we want touch screens, baby!

  9. You forgot the crappy 2 year contract with AT&T to make that work..

    Oh wait..

I think I forgot about the hackers.

...hey 3G doesn't even work in my area. But I think its a good thing for leg strength, when the cell phone gives out and I switch to fixed gear mode in the forested hills.

  10. BGW,

I picked up another old Raliegh today with downtube shifters. Hugh frame know anyone 7 foot.

  12. ...no clue, blue...someday, i wanna find an old, red 'made in england' raleigh 'upright' from the '50's, w/ 3 speed sturmy-archer setup, just like my very first bike...

...& ron, i just realized on your price list, that surely the 'cassette' & 'chainset' prices are inverted...

  13. BGW : Good observation. I'm not assuming anything, the numbers were plucked from a Cycling News article. So unless the chain is made from unobtainium, good chance is that they are inverted. Thanks.

  14. ...ron...no problem...& hey...

...my motto: "i may be slow, dammit, but i am inefficient"...

  15. BGW,

Our brothers in UK call a crankset a "chainset". Thats why its so expensive! Hope that explains your doubt.

Just to put things into perspecive, 1500£ is roughly the listed price of a SRAM Red here in Europe...

  17. Tomas : In that case, both are ridiculous.
