The ones who wouldn't "play" (as in take the PED's needed to compete at the top level) were just like the ones who didn't train enough - LOSERS. These people never think what they're doing is wrong whether they create charities or not. His goal was to play the game better than anyone else and use anything at his disposal to win. Larry thinks he'll go to his grave never thinking he was guilty of cheating. Sadly, too many in our modern society think this is admirable behavior and believe what makes them feel good in spite of piles of evidence to the contrary. Guys like BigTex know this and take advantage of it all the time.Larry and Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16346445393389942837noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13887692.post-35493627617536086062012-08-26T22:26:49.875-04:002012-08-26T22:26:49.875-04:00People in our society dont want to be informed , e...People in our society dont want to be informed , even less so challenged in their beliefs and worldview. They are perfectly fine seeing a champion defending their preconceived view of the world, a sort of idealogical knight in shining armor. The internet has a role to play in this disaster because you can increasingly switch out channels that have dissenting viewpoints and only be in the world where other people's opinions match yours. Fewer people today are out challenging preconceived notions about anything - leave alone sports. Its a sad trend that I hope will get fixed soon or we're all fooling ourselves on how to solve real issues.Ben Carternoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13887692.post-30809602515882744302012-08-25T20:43:47.581-04:002012-08-25T20:43:47.581-04:00Ron - a frightening percentage of Americans cannot...Ron - a frightening percentage of Americans cannot distinguish between sense and nonsense. One was Neil, the great American who took our dreams to the moon. He knew how to live a dignified and quiet life. "I'll always be a white socks, pocket protecting engineer nerd" he was quoted as saying. He'll forever be admirable as long as mankind lives.

The other is Lance, who wronged others and lived a life of criminal proportions to launch into fame. He's still quoted as saying that he will be "great" after the ban. What a preposterous , arrogant idiot. This isn't about the bike shop but me associating with anything that has to do with Lance will not give me a good feeling. So we're quite used to juggle good and bad. It seems that when the bad doesn't really hunt anyone, or everyone else is doing it (tax evasion, for instance), people are more willing to get one get away with more than when it would hurt people. Bernie Madoff is not a very popular figure even though he gave the most to charity.Arjan Hulseboshttp://www.dehulst.nlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13887692.post-18286702931980235162012-08-25T15:36:30.884-04:002012-08-25T15:36:30.884-04:00Up to this point, I was an admirer of Lance, if no...Up to this point, I was an admirer of Lance, if not a "staunch" supporter. I don't know about those staunch supporter types, I know for a fact that between my job, home, family, kids and my cycling trips, I don't have the time to follow every news story linking him to something. Last night I got a chance to watch Tyler Hamilton on 60 Minutes on Youtube and after it came out thinking - omh, why would he lay everything on the line in this fashion and go public about Lance unless he wanted to clear his conscience? Some of the things he says are really damning, frankly I just dont know what to believe and will probably go on with my life without getting into nitty gritty details. If Lance didn't dope, good for him and his fans. If he did it, he'll bear the consequences of what he did. pedalgalnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13887692.post-91910715340387173062012-08-25T15:24:59.950-04:002012-08-25T15:24:59.950-04:00Whilst i have met the Guy and ridden " traini...Whilst i have met the Guy and ridden " training rides " with him , together with other team members , i am not a " one eyed " supporter ! He from my POV is approachable and i have found that he will listen to what you are proposing , whether the idea has any benefit at a later date remain to be seen .

Not everyone that is fully focused on their work efforts , will be seen as " aloof " because they ignore what is going on around them . Fans will complain when they fail to get autographs and Media will write about being " ignored " , as if they were so important in the first place ? Each of us only has 24hrs in a day and it will be the focused " who best utilise that time .
I personally believe that " UCI " give athletes the right to use Drugs to combat various medical conditions . That some of these " Allowed Drugs " give the athlete a benefit may also be true and in Cancer treatment i have read that " EPO " has been used in many cases . Do we thus say that an Athlete who suffers cancer should no longer be allowed to compete at the highest level since their " Allowed Drugs " give an unfair advantage ? Tom boonen overstepped the mark with Cocaine in OOC tests and Al Petacchi was given a " rest " because of his failing to check his " Sinus spray " . Alain Baxter was stripped of his " Bronze Ski Medal ( now recorded as third but no medal )" for not checking his " medical Spray " contents !
As Phonak's chief said , " any publicity is GOOD publicity " after Flandis was stripped of hios TDF win , so it is with " LiveSTRONG " , gaining additional revenue as people are reminded of the need for funds to help a segment of the population , that most of us would happily avoid joining !
Those supporting " Kangaroo Court Tactics " had better hope they never find themselves in the same situation ! " Occupy Wall Street " followers will happily tell you that we live in an Unbalanced World where you can buy the result you want , including the " Presidency of the good ole USA "!

Cancer is an Old Disease that will be fought for many years to come and it devastates families , whether they are Rich or Poor ," LiveStrong " will only grow in popularity thanks to those trying to destroy Lance's reputation !

Should anyone think that being a naysayer as to Lance's reputation , think again , the sooner his name sinks out of sight the sooner " LiveSTRONG's name " will become less visible .

Forum's are full of disgruntled and as Lance sinks below their horizon they will turn their venom on the likes of Briggo & Froome Dog !skippyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10045948860442711266noreply@blogger.com
