Hmm,what's Floyd up to these days?

Man, was I surprised to see Floyd's name when I innocently checked the '07 Shenandoah Mountain 100 race standings. In 3rd place, beaten by a Independant Fabrication rider, not a bad result at all though. His sponsor is Smith & Nephew, a company specializing in orthopedic products.

Btw,The Shenandoah Mountain 100, organized by Chris Scott of Shenandoah Mountain Touring, is a stupendous mountain bike race covering 100 miles, and just shy of 14000ft of climbing, along the Virginia-West Virginia border.

Interestingly, the winner of the bike race was Trek-VW rider Jeff Schalk, a pro mountain biker who decided to quit his job as a structural engineer to pursue his dreams. He not only beat Floyd, he probably set an outright record time for the race of 7 hours, 5 minutes and 25 seconds.

There, you need engineers to win bike races.., in style!
